This traditional tea salon in a restored Machiya merchant house offers green tea and sweets, tea ceremony lessons, and workshops to make tea utensils. The tea salon is operated by popular design and household goods store Nakagawa Masashichi, which was founded in Nara in 1716. Anyone can enjoy matcha tea and seasonal sweets at the salon. Sweets are a fusion of traditional and contemporary tastes, such as matcha "affogato". You can also buy tea ceremony tools to use at home.
